Contracting Patrick to build our house was the smartest thing we could have done. Patrick listened to us and what we wanted, we worked on ideas until we were satisfied and then plans were drawn. Living in Maryland we were worried about the progress of the house. Patrick made sure we participated in every step with weekly reports and pictures of the on-going project, we felt like we were there! Patrick built our dream home and in the process we also made a friend. We feel we got the best value for our money. We would not hesitate to recommend his services

We are currently about 2 weeks away from completion of an upstairs addition and kitchen remodeling project for which Patrick W. Lamm has been our general contractor. The project includes two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs in what once was an attic and remodeling of a bedroom into a dining room off of the kitchen which includes removal of an existing wall, new flooring, installation of a custom- made island, and crown and chair-rail trim. We have been very pleased with the process. This is our second addition to our home (previous addition through another contractor) and there are many aspects of this particular experience that would give us confidence in recommending Patrick to our friends. First of all, Patrick was very thorough in calculating the estimated costs for the project. He itemized each individual aspect of the job and presented it to us in a very easy to read format along with taking the time to discuss it with us. Each week he has presented us with copies of invoices and a running comparison of the actual cost of the work vs. the estimated cost. This has made record-keeping simple and organized and we feel we know all that is going on with the project. Patrick communicates with us often and keeps us abreast of any changes that need to occur. He also has let us know what step is coming up next and the expected time-line. Our project is on course to be completed in the time estimated. Our expectations about the project have been exceeded. Where we may have thought of basic construction, Patrick went a step further and made sure it was actually of better quality than we anticipated - all at the already estimated cost. We did not feel like we had to watch for poor quality workmanship or materials. Decisions left to his discretion turned out better than if we’d made them ourselves. He also was helpful in cosmetic choices. This was much appreciated given that he was previously a real estate agent (he was our buyer’s agent when we first bought our house, in fact). We feel like he has great experience and understanding of the housing market and suggestions he made have been taken to heart.

Overall, we have had the feeling that Patrick truly cares about what he puts his name on. He has included us in decisions and kept us abreast of the process. His estimated costs have been at or below the actual expense of the project and our job is scheduled to finish on time. If we need further renovations to our home, he will be the one we will call.

Dear Patrick:

I wanted to take a moment to tell you how pleased Valerie and I are with our townhouse at Blue Water Landing. We’ve been here now for almost a year and I must say this has been the most problem free home we’ve owned.

When we were first considering the purchase, you’ll recall I asked a close friend and builder to visit the site with me and kick the tires, so to speak. He assured me you were using the latest and best construction techniques and in most cases were going well beyond what was required by the building code. He was right. Our house is tight, quiet, comfortable, and secure.

Of course, with all new construction there are the inevitable minor tweaks that are needed from time to time. We appreciate that you’ve been quick to respond and have been there personally to find and fix whatever little detail was out of sorts.

Dear Patrick,

I just wanted to let you know how much I love my house! I have owned it for over a year now, and I love it as much as I did when we sat down and first planned it out. The personal touches that you integrated into the plans for me – the desk area in the master bedroom, the in-counter stove facing into the living room, the huge glass block window over the garden tub – have made this house feel like mine since the very beginning. I especially love all the storage space and the organization extras, like adjustable shelves, that you included in the closets and cabinets. I am also exceptionally pleased with the decorating that I asked you to choose; my kitchen countertops are perfect, and the bright wallpaper in the master bath makes it my favorite room first thing in the morning. The landscaping is beautiful, also. You definitely have a great eye for decorating, inside and out.
